July 27 to 30 - Devonport Jazz
Devonport Jazz is an annual jazz festival held on the last weekend in July. The aim of the program has always been to include a great mix of jazz music from traditional jazz to modern jazz, latin to funk fusion and an increasing blues component. Artists from the mainland, Tasmania and overseas feature in a series of concerts, dances and dinners. As well as being a showcase for some of the best interstate and local jazz musicians, the festival incorporates education, visual art and film. August 13 - Chocolate Winterfest Latrobe
Chocoholics flock to the Tasmanian town of Latrobe to get their annual sugar fix at the town's Chocolate Winterfest. The festival begins with a lantern parade and a dinner. This weekend chocolate enthusiasts then get stuck into cooking classes, mousse eating competitions and chocolate foot massages. There was also a mud run to help work off some of the calories, although the prize for the winner was more chocolate! - Latrobe Tasmania
October 1 to 31 - Devonport Food & Wine Festival
The month long Devonport Food & Wine Festival is one of the most popular events of the year. Linking the community with all things food and wine through a month long program of events and activities, the Festival celebrates the wine, cheese, chocolate, fresh food and boutique producers who call the North West of Tasmania home. The Festival celebrates and enhances food and wine excellence through the delivery of and focus on Tasmanian produce. October 12 to 14 - Royal Launceston Show
Celebrate Tasmania's primary industries and enjoy the breeder competitions, industry displays, side-show rides and show bags. At this year's Show you will be able to see a wide range of attractions, activities and animal exhibitions and judging that celebrates Tasmania's agricultural industries as well as well your love for domesticated pets such as cats and dogs. Your children will love the cat and dog judging halls where they can see all the well groomed pets, and the long time Show favourite the animal nursery will give all the children the opportunity to pet rabbits and lambs and see up close, turkeys, ducks and hens, calves and suckling piglets. The Sheffield Medieval Festival is a truly amazing event that continues to grow and attract a National and International quality of entrant. November 18 - Bicheno Food and Wine Festival
A one-day festival celebrating the food and wine of the East Coast Region of Tasmania. Come along to Tassie's best little food and wine festival, offering a day of exciting and unique events designed to bring you up close and personal with leading local wine makers, chefs, food producers and gourmet trail blazers. All washed down with some great local blues and roots rhythms! Last years expansion out of the hall and onto the grass was a great success and this format will the back again this year. The fairground atmosphere created by the big marquee and the rows of food and wine stalls will once again make for some very enjoyable gourmet grazing! December 1 to 2 - Devonport Show
The Devonport Show is held annually on the last Friday and Saturday of November. The show offers fun for the entire family, including carnival rides, prizes to be won, family entertainment and even fireworks. The show runs for two days and brings in people from all across the North West Coast and even statewide. This year's show will include a Betta Milk Food and Farming Show, which will have displays and interactive activities from agricultural companies and local farming producers, as well as a Fine Food & Wine Court.
